Bristol Beaufighter

Post  The 16th Pilot on Mon Sep 26, 2011 10:39 pm

The Beaufighter was a British, twin-engined heavy fighter, developed from the Bristol Beaufort. But unlike the beaufort, the Beau, as it was commonly called, had a long career and served in almost all theatres of war in the Second World War, first as a night fighter, then as a fighter bomber and eventually replacing the Beaufort as a torpedo bomber. It was not an exceptionally fast airplane, but it had good range and reliability.
