The An-225

For many years the largest plane in the world was the Russian An-225, a six engined transport specifically built for transporting rockets for Russia's space program. As far as I know only one An-225 was ever built. Right now Russia leases it out for others to use for such things as when a C5A went down in I believe Korea, the U.S. rented the An-225 for hauling it to the U.S. I am not sure if the 225 is the largest anymore, some say that the A-380 has it beat. It all depends on what scale you use, the 225 is larger in dimensions, though I don't think in weight.

WOW! that is a big plane. I think it is amazing to see how they are always trying to build a bigger this or that...

Could you imagine how much the rent for that plane would be???

I suppose they would have to pay for the gas too...somewhat like a U-haul of the skies...Hehehe

It is interesting something I read recently said that Russia is building a second 225, it takes a long time to build one though, because it is custom made. Basically one of a kind.
