EA-6 Prowler
One of these flew over one day when I was working in the garden. It flew so low I could actually see the pilot. It was loud! At first I thought it might be a fighter jet, but the wings weren't swept back enough. I was trying to think of all the jet airplanes I had seen pictures of, and the only plane I could think of, other than a fighter, was the A-10. This definitely was not an A-10. It turned and I saw the nose, and then I knew what it was. I went in and looked it up, and sure enough, it was a Prowler.

Re: EA-6 Prowler
My Dad worked on the A-6E Intruder when he was in the Marines, it is the non electronic warfare model of the prowler, has only two seats instead of four. In case you didn't know, the A in the name means attack, and the E means electronic, hence the EA6B means Electronic Attack 6 revision B.

Jessica,
That is incredible. I think you are right. They must do training mission in that canyon. I could not locate any info on Fairchild AFB to see if the Prowlers were stationed there...
I think this is a NEAT plane. I am so glad you got to see one! How exciting!
