I thought this was a funny looking plane. Used for bombing and recon work during WWI: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farman_MF.11

That is a rather interesting looking aircraft. It only went 66 mph, but that is not surprising since it first flew in 1913, only one year after the invention of the airplane.

I think that the airplane first flew in 1903 if I am not mistaken.
